Forgive me, but I have a small rant about the Administration’s spin on the War on Terrorism.
We really need to stop talking (but more importantly, thinking) about the terrorist opposition to the U.S. as if it were a centrally directed opposing army. It’s not. It’s a movement, and it is a new breed of adversary. I’ve said it before and I will say it again; the American military-industrial complex has built a finely equipped fighting force with the goal of winning a post-nuclear war of attrition with the U.S.S.R. or China. But we really have no idea what we’re doing here, and worse yet we are compounding our problems by pretending that waging war on other state governments is going to address the issue. It won’t. In fact, we’re only making things worse.
Seems like W.&Co will drag us into another Vietnam yet!
